Nicholas Orringe left the adjusting giant in December to set up Arbiter Adjusters, and will hold an event to formally launch Arbiter on 26 February.
Orringe told Post his new business will provide surveying and adjusting services in a bid to target both underwriting and claims processes, and says that brokers have welcomed a more personal approach.
“We are not reinventing the wheel, but it’s a slightly different approach,” Orringe said. “It’s a lot more personal.”
Orringe is both a chartered surveyor and a former auctioneer, and the business will take after his specialties, as well as taking on claims of thatched roof fires and flooding.
The latter category saw Hampshire-based Arbiter open its doors a week earlier than planned, Orringe said, with flooding over Christmas providing activity for the business from 23 December.
“The rest of the world was shutting down for Christmas, but we were just getting started,” he said.
